Start at Parker Mill Park and wind your way to the Huron River..This trail follows the river up to Gallup Park where you can do the loop, and make your way back...Be sure and walk the short wooded trail on the way back through Parker Mill..This trail is easily accessible, and heavily traveled..It is pet freindly, with many bicyclists..Wheelchair accessible too.Slightly overgrown in some spots. A walk here is a great chance to watch the boats go by, and the area is well-provided with dog waste bins at locks 26, 36, 41, 43 and 45.
Things got a lot more challenging on the back half with lots of change in grade and trails intersecting. Definitely bring bug spray!This trail is kinda confusing, take the second right with the stairs, follow the switchbacks till you get to the gravel path.....late afternoon hike, not very many bugs at all...quite a few people along the way though..Not a bad trail if you want a nice quick trip.
