We may be getting an ARB fridge soon, and I'm wondering if there is any difference in power usage between the 37 & 50 quart models. Well, I was wrong about the 4-pin connector - there is no hot wire in it, just in the 7-way. Both “should” fit in the back, but double check the measurements.
One, I connected to my Jeep battery, ran it through the firewall, then to the rear and permanently attached it. We too plan to keep the fridge in the van. The 50 is level with the back seat. Arb is showing the length of both at just under 28”. The only bad thing is the 37 cost about what the 50 does so that is why most go with the 50. It looks like you're new here.

Okay, DH is driving so I looked this up.
Has anyone tried to mount an ARB fridge (37 or 50 qt) in their JLU?
The ARB cover is worth the money. And our cig lighter socket just inside the back hatch of our Sienna van is not live.
A month ago I had checked measurements from the rear seat to the top of the rear gate and came up with 29”.
For a better experience, please enable JavaScript in your browser before proceeding. I bought a second harness that I wired onto the I bought two of the “official” ARB wiring harnesses.
I know apples and oranges but it just seems to me that I can keep ice in a yeti for about a week. I ran a 12 gauge wire back to an ARB socket and mounted to the outboard side of the plastic trim down by the rollbar.
I can tell you that is the peak amp draw, but it is generally much lower....closer to under 2.5 amps. There there may be some useful information here for you. Geesh.Well, I was wrong about the 4-pin connector - there is no hot wire in it, just in the 7-way.
Simple connections and it works well. ARB 10900042 Transit Bag Classic Fridge For 37QT Series II Grey/Black Transit Bag Classic Fridge 4.3 out of 5 stars 17.
I wanted the smallest one that meets my week long needs.
Our doesn't have any red colored parts - all black, but maybe it's just the tip I unscrewed to find a fuse inside.
Both “should” fit in the back, but double check the measurements.
The 50qt has the same outline size, but is taller so the angled seat back works against you there.
Anybody know?
Just a followup after our first trip using the ARB without hookups at campsite..
During testing, the peak current draw that my Yeti showed was 60 watts when the ARB compressor and fan kicked on.
Thanks again to all.
They are good offroad no real difference with the arb.
In the end it all came down to size for me though. It's the collar down near the wire end that unscrews to reveal another plug inside.I'm wondering about this 12V cord with the cig plug that comes apart..

Check out the Dometic and the Smittybilt fridges, they are a touch smaller and equally good. Sure my rig has seen the trail, but I wheel it like a soccer mom looking for a parking spot at Nordstroms.

Only 3 left in stock - order soon. I have a 41qt Indel B fridge/cooler connected to the trailer battery, and solar panels on the roof to continually charge the battery during daylight.
The 37qt fills up fast.
I've had a 50 arb for 1.5 years.
If I remember right the 37 has the same footprint, but is shorter?
I $132.00. Lowering the rear seat or removing it isn't an option for me.
