A large wildfire has been burning on heathland in Surrey amid soaring temperatures earlier in the south east of England. To start the walk come out of the car park, cross the road with care and then go straight ahead into the entrance for Chobham Common. Easy instructions. The path goes over a wetland area via a low sleeper bridge and then climbs up a few well-spaced steps. The final section of the walk follows a narrow path through thick gorse (shorts are not advised!) Definitely the first real hint of spring when the sun was shining.
