Most versus comics I read only really say that in title and have maybe five pages of fighting between said characters before they get side tracked by plot. The battle between the Ultimate Universes greatest heroes starts here! Considering the scepticism with which I approached this comic, entitled "Avengers vs New Ultimates", my first reaction was, "What the %@$* is this?!"
Thank you Mark Millar for ending this series with a bang. BUT at the same time nick fury's team of avengers find out that carol danvers has been selling info on sheild ..so whos right.. regardless both sides duke it out and the true foe finally is revealed near the end. I guess this Death of Spider-Man thing is the next big Ultimate event, what with a prelude and now crossovers? Superstar creators JEPH LOEB and FRANK CHO (in his Ultimate Comics debut!) First it builds up the plot in issue one for why the Avengers and the New Ultimates are fighting and then straight to the action all the way through to the end. I guess in the story he thought he was, but Punisher, an expert marksman, was aiming at someone's knees. 18" x 27" (image); 1.5" (depth). Which apparently some people like a lot. At least the version in Marvel's Ultimate Universe. It's an okay book, it doesn't really tie-in to the Death of Spider-Man event as much as it could have. And Mark Millar brings the standard back up from the meh experience of Ultimate Comics Avengers 3, way up. Measures approx. is trying to bring about international political change, and is using both the Avengers and the Ultimates to do it, putting them against each other.
