MACLUNKEY!

Luke sought to strike down what he hated, the darkness he saw in Ben Solo, when he should have protected what he loved, his nephew. With that said I do agree that they did not communicate the message as effectively as they could have being a large portion of the audience was confused by it.I can get on board with the ideology of the scene but her character was not fully developed for me to care that she believed in that ideology. The audience feels more concerned for the loss of Finn’s life. We root for Rose’s sister to be successful, the film draws the scene out, the switch to release the bombs falls past the platform that Rose’s sister is lying on, and we worry she has failed, she turns, grabs hold of the switch, releases the bombs, we cheer because this means the First Order will be hurt. To Rose Finn's life was worth more than that outcome. Never for attack. Maybe they could have tried spinning!Yeah. Does killing a bad guy make you a good guy? It’s because Vader’s motivation in the moment he killed The Emperor was his love for his son, he wanted to save Luke. Why is the good guy the good guy? Holdo's kamikaze attack was a last resort effort to save what remained of The Resistance. The destruction of the ship was not necessary to insure the escape of The Resistance.Rose’s sister sacrificing herself at the film’s start (as she clutches her half of a pendant she shared with Rose) mirrors Finn’s attempt to sacrifice himself at the film’s close.

Rose Tico was, unfortunately for actress Kelly Marie Tran, one of the characters who most embodied that attempt to turn Star Wars into something alien to itself. They needed a distraction and an escape from the Canto bight police, which the fartheirs provided.Exactly, the free fathiers was just a happy accident, something Rose was taking solace in when she thought they had lostI always stick up for the Rose character, but I gotta give the upvote for a good memeLet's be honest here, did they really save those horses? Are they going to fly away now? SWGOH.GG; Characters; Rose Tico; Gear; Rose Tico . Yeah who is she, Qui-Gon Jinn? I just wish they had ironed out the edges more on the setup and delivery of the ideology. Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcutsCookies help us deliver our Services. Rose Tico Fan Mostly . The two are almost interchangeable.Rose's action still come across as really idiotic given that the only reason they survived was Luke's arrivalI think one of the problems is that we never see Finn fighting what he hates. What the fuck do you want her to do, smash them together into some kind of subservient childflesh golem? If they wanted to be freed, they should have thought about how useless they were before they became child slaves.“Freeing” the horses was literally as easy as opening a cage. Though to be fair, anti-Jedi Luke isn’t much better. And it’s bad storytelling - hitting the audience over the head with a mini lecture on the themes of the film.If you have to verbally, explicitly explain the thematic gist of your film, you’ve failed somewhere along the way as a visual storyteller...I think it was an attempt to tell the audience why Poe was wrong and Leia was right at the film's start, and who better to deliver that line than someone who had a person they care about die as a result of Poe's leadership. The line also explains why Luke failed Ben Solo. Rose settles the outcome for us. I think much of the confusion around the line comes from the idea that it is delivered as a critique of Finn’s attempt to sacrifice himself, when you instead look at the line as an explanation of why Rose stopped Finn from sacrificing himself the line makes more sense.Finn was trying to save what he loved by stopping the siege canon.Rose saved what she loved by stopping Finn from sacrificing himself. The line is not a critique of Finn’s attempt to sacrifice himself, it is a critique of Poe Dameron’s actions at the start of the film, the action’s that led to the death of Rose’s sister.
