We have some interesting events lined up this month if you are in the area again, including Doors Open Day on 21 September along with a performance of Sea Hames by Oceansallaround and on 28 September a day celebrating the local football team Albion Rovers with speedway bikes and memorabilia, the Greyhound Trust and some soccer skills activities. Well laid out, good explanations, helpful staff and a great homemade soup in the cafe. The grandkids loved the trip on the tram. A good day out for the family. That this House marks the centenary year of Albion Rovers F.C. Great place. This is a must see but give yourself 2 hours.
We have special event on this weekend with a performance of Sea Hames by Oceansallover and also free tours of the industrial history store and tram depot. It is situated on the site of the Victorian Summerlee Iron Works and the former Hydrocon Crane factory.

Summerlee is the museum of Scottish industrial life and is based around the site of a 19th century ironworks The museum makes a great family day out and has Scotland's only operational heritage tramway, as well as a recreated mine with guided tours, miners' cottages, an exhibition hall with working machinery, a play park, a cafe and a shop. I initially visited to see the exhibition on Albion Rovers FC. The collection will be shown at Summerlee Museum from February 13th to March 6th, 2016. 16,076 were here.
