Beautiful architecture, great restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops, hills that create interesting vistas that attract an eclectic group of friendly people. With a lovely array of boutique clothing and lifestyle shops and some awesome cafes, Paddington is high on my list of suburbs I'd most like to live in. Close to the city and adjacent to other much-loved suburbs like Red Hill and Bardon, Paddington has developed a reputation for being the flourishing food, coffee and shopping hub of the western suburbs.Paddington’s heritage aesthetic oozes a traditional Queensland charm, with restored weatherboard houses and workmen’s cottages serving as homes or transformed into small businesses and boutique retail stores.Latrobe and Given Terrace act as the central spine of the suburb, bustling with locals during the day as they immerse themselves in the local cafés, galleries and one-of-a-kind antique stores. Paddington is the place to be for boutique shopping, after-work drinks, or a lazy weekend breakfast. A ridiculous amount of trendy cafes and bars and shops. Similar to other suburbs in the area, settlements in Paddington started to sprout in the 1860s. When i reached 18, sure enough I was back in the area more frequently enjoying the cafes, restaurants and the nightlife.
