This trailer presents The Bookshop as a potentially light, warm and inspirational movie with happy music and with a potentially happy and uplifting ending. It seem to drag on a lot. A perfect adaptation of an excellent novel. I prefer plots that offer some hope at the end. A perfect example of the art of subtlety. It was wonderfully filmed and the acting was superb. First of all, I almost didn't watch this moving film because of the negative reviews...but so glad I did. She is backed by superb performances by Bill Nighy and Patricia Clarson and a script which is both beautifully written and well-paced. Our dilemma now is whether to give this disc to some unsuspecting soul, or shred it to save them from the grief.
